This wikiHow teaches you how to write text in Hindi on your Windows PC when it is not the default language. If you have a physical Hindi keyboard, you only need to install the Hindi language pack and keyboard layout. If not, you can use the Google Input Tools Hindi onscreen keyboard to type on the web, or the Windows onscreen keyboard to type in non-web applications (such as Microsoft Word).
Steps
Method 1 of 2: Use Google's Input Tools for Chrome

Step 1. Go to in google chrome
If you have the Chrome web browser, you can use the Google Text Input Tools extension to enter Hindi text anywhere on the web (such as on Facebook, Gmail, and most other websites) using an on-screen keyboard. If you won't need to type Hindi often, you don't have to install the browser extension. Instead, just use the current page to write your text, and then copy and paste it in the desired location. This is how you do it: It's below the lower-left corner of the writing area. This will open the download page for the extension. It's the blue button near the top-right corner of the page. Depending on your settings, you may need to log into Google before the extension will install. It's near the upper-right corner of Chrome, and it looks like a blue letter "A" on top of a gray keyboard. A menu will expand. A list of languages will appear. This is how you do it: Now you can write in Hindi anywhere on the web, including Facebook, Twitter, Gmail, and anywhere else that accepts text. This will close the small menu and replace the Google Input Tools icon with a small blue keyboard. It's in the upper-right corner of Chrome (where the "A" icon used to be). An on-screen keyboard with Hindi characters will now appear in the lower right corner of the browser. The characters you type will then appear in the writing area. Step 1. Open the Settings app Windows. You'll find its gear icon near the bottom left corner of the "Start" menu. Its icon contains a clock and a few different characters. If you already see Hindi in the right panel, under "Preferred languages", you can proceed to the next step. If not, this is how to add: Some buttons will appear on your tile. It's under the heading "Keyboards." If you want to remove a keyboard, simply select it from the "Keyboards" list and click Remove. You can use the Hindi keyboard anywhere in Windows. If you have a physical Hindi keyboard, you can skip this step. If not, you can use the on-screen keyboard. This is how it opens: If you use Spanish, you would have to click ESP on the taskbar, right next to the clock. A list of installed keyboards will appear. This will change the input language to Hindi, which will also change the on-screen keyboard to Hindi (if you are using it). You can click or press the keys on the screen to enter Hindi characters.
