Are you going to act in a play, movie or short film? Looking to craft a killer Charlie Sheen costume for Halloween? No matter what the reason is, a "stoned" costume is a good excuse to get a little mysterious and eccentric, and playing these roles convincingly will greatly increase your field as an actor. However, keep in mind that these are broad, often stereotyped generalizations intended to be used as a guide for your own interpretation.
Steps
Method 1 of 4: Look Like You're High

Step 1. Rub your eyes with your fingers, flicking them slightly to make them appear red
This is the classic "cheerleader" look. Smoking causes the veins in the eyes to expand, which makes them much more visible, causing the well-known red eye in people who use drugs.
- You can also rub some freshly cut onion or peppermint extract under your eyes to make tears come out, causing a red-eye effect.
- Try not to blink. It's not funny, but it will make your eyes red.

Step 2. Relax the muscles of the face and body, letting them drop and feeling loose
Your eyelids and lips will drop slightly to the floor, as if you are half asleep. Drop into the chair or loosen up slightly when standing. You must be totally relaxed.
You will achieve this when you stare at nothing for a long time and barely move your body

Step 3. Move slowly and laconically
You are not in a hurry. Keep the rush to a minimum, only really moving when it's very necessary. Drugged boys and girls rarely feel compelled to do things that are not strictly necessary and neither should you. When you go to move, take your time.
Try to give your movements a “flow”, like the images of grooved hippies used in cartoons and old videos

Step 4. Speak in a low, gravelly voice
Imagine that your throat and mouth are completely dry, as evidenced by many of the people who smoke regularly. Lower your voice to a low, deep register and scrape the words a bit.

Step 5. Chew small snacks
A bag of chips or a box of Oreo cookies is the perfect accessory for a kid on high. Bet on eating regularly and incessantly, which is why packaged chips and crackers are generally the best option. Generally, the "cravings" are for salty or sweet foods and for some people who take drugs they are uncontrollable. Eating consistently at a good time will help you sell the paper well.
Method 2 of 4: Look Like You're Psychedelic

Step 1. Spend a long, long time looking at things with a sense of wonder
Travel causes many consumers to see patterns, new colors, and even objects and people that appear outside of everyday life, making the whole world a fascinating playground. The idea of seeing the world as if it were the first time, in awe of the moving things around you, is the key to acting like a psychedelic person.
- Keep your eyes peeled, getting as many views as possible.
- Curiosity is your golden rule.

Step 2. Laugh often, but only for yourself
Something funny rarely happens, but a traveling person will find it funny. Usually, this type of laughter escapes on trips as a result of a fresh vision, a strange new texture, or a completely random and untraceable thought.

Step 3. Touch many things, rub them to enjoy the variety of textures
Psychedelics tend to have sensory overload and touch is one of the most enjoyed. However, note that travelers are rarely zoned one way at a time. The thing that you caress will probably change color or also visualize that you mold it under your hand.
Once again, the sense of wonder is the key to creating your performance. You don't have to explain what you see, you just have to be fascinated by it

Step 4. Dig deeper and get philosophical about our shared experience and place in the universe
People who travel (take drugs) are rarely selfish, they are too far to be too self-absorbed. Instead, they generally "see" connections between each and every living thing that sober people don't. When they speak, drugged people are usually on a "higher plane" that usually doesn't make sense to people who are not on the same journey:
- A long rant about beauty and the connection between you and the earth would not be out of place.
- Stopping in the middle of a thought, as if taking in some incredible and inexplicable new truth, can help you improvise if you run out of philosophical thoughts.

Step 5. Consider taking a fake "bad trip" complete with a mental breakdown, if you are a true actor
Do you really want to go all out for all with the fake trip? Make it bad! You must be convincingly scared and have a point of fixation, whether it is an object that has been "transformed" into a demon or an imaginary space that you claim is "filled with horrible energy." Bad trips are characterized by:
- fear with open eyes
- fixation on real or imagined worry, stress, or terror
- nervous movements and sweating
- sickness
- wish to be anywhere else
- inability to move (paralyzed with fear)
Method 3 of 4: Appear as if you were on "speed" (cocaine, amphetamine, etc.)

Step 1. Talk as much as you can
People may not really enjoy your company, but that's the cost of acting. Motor-mouth syndrome commonly afflicts those who use high-energy drugs such as cocaine, meaning that thoughts occur too fast that the person cannot express them fast enough. No matter what you say, just keep talking.

Step 2. Resist the urge to sit still
Hit your toes and feet. Get up and move every couple of minutes. Let your eyes flick back and forth across the room uncontrollably. You must feel as if there is a huge reserve of energy within you that is about to burst, empowering you as the energizing bunny.
Many cocaine users even mention that they breathe faster than normal

Step 3. Clean your nose frequently
If you are going to pretend that you are inhaling drugs, you will have to scratch your nose and wipe off excess mucus for most of the night.

Step 4. Get irritable as the night progresses
When all your energy comes from drugs, you can go from restless to agitated quickly. You could easily change states, be prone to anger, or just start acting awkward and kinky. This is usually shown by extreme mood swings, which become more noticeable with high doses and longer time on the drug.

Step 5. "Fall" into low energy chaos if you don't "resupply" during the performance
Amphetas (stimulants) don't tend to last long, instead draining all of the consumer's energy and leaving them much more depressed than when they started. Cocaine as a reference, usually lasts about 20 minutes.
Drowsiness, irritability, and lethargy are common in the falling phase (depression)
Method 4 of 4: Look Like You're "Down" (Opiates)

Step 1. Act like a happy, sleepy baby, speaking little and smiling sleepily
This is one of the most common, dangerous and powerful drugs like heroin. Relaxers, such as opiates, often leave people in a happy lethargy, unable and reluctant to move from the chair they are in. They usually move seductively like a baby on a blanket, making themselves comfortable and enjoying every second.

Step 2. Immerse yourself in wide-eyed bliss right after "taking" the drug, then fade into drowsiness
Watch Ewan McGregor's masterful performance as a heroin addict in the movie Trainspotting to see how quickly this change can happen. Opioids typically hit hard, bringing a rush of euphoria, before putting the user in a mellow, sleepy, and generally useless state.

Step 3. Let your words and actions fade into nothingness
Most opiate users happily have their minds in the sky. They may start a thought, but ending it is not really important. Ask someone to pay attention to you, but don't say anything to them when they turn to see you. Keep your voice low and calm.

Step 4. Swoon regularly, either falling asleep or simply drifting into oblivion
The general idea is to get stuck in the clouds, unable to define your thoughts. Most of the time, this leads you to literally fall asleep, lifting your head a little in a surprising way from time to time, as if you just woke up.

Step 5. Scratch regularly, as itching is often a side effect of opiates
Again, this is indeed an effect of heroin, but in drugs like oxycodone that actually have the same type of component, it is slightly weaker. Scratch yourself on the forearms, but don't make it a big deal. It's just another uncontrollable tic, not a specific urge.
Advice
- Try to be more subtle than you think. The steps outlined above are the extreme behaviors, but generally, most actual drug users display much less pronounced versions of the above. Think about how "high" the character really is in the scene.
- If you want to act like a meth addict, you can use makeup to scab over your skin and paint your teeth in dirty colors.
