Acting like a pirate can be an exciting and fun experience, whether it's for a Halloween party or International Talk Like a Pirate Day, or even just for fun. You will have to dress for the occasion and put on scarves, high boots and find a few large white shirts. Learn pirate lingo and say "you" or "you" instead of "you" or "you." Use some accessories, like a parrot and a sword, and toughen up your attitude for a true pirate look. Arrrr, my brave ones!
Steps
Part 1 of 3: Dress Up Like a Pirate

Step 1. Wear a vest
Add a vest to your outfit to indicate that you are the captain of the pirates. Choose one that has brass buttons or some details. You can find these vests in vintage or costume stores. Otherwise, search the Internet.

Step 2. Choose a large shirt
Your shirt should be baggy, so choose one that is several sizes larger than you normally would. Look for a white or beige one made from any fabric. You can choose a ruffled blouse or shirt or a regular dress shirt. Tuck it into your pants, leave the collar flat and leave the cuffs unbuttoned.
You can also wear a sash or scarf in a bright or contrasting color around your waist

Step 3. Wear some black pants
Long, baggy pants are ideal, but any pair will work as long as they are not made from denim. You must tuck the pants into the boots to create a true pirate look.
- You can also cut the bottom of the pants for a raggedy look.
- Women can choose pants or a long, baggy and voluminous skirt.

Step 4. Add a vest
Choose a red, navy, or black vest to wear over your shirt. Velvet is perfect for pirates. You can leave the buttons open or button the vest.
If you are a woman, you can wear a corset or bodice over the top

Step 5. Choose high boots
Choose a pair of knee-high boots that only slip and don't tie. They can be black or brown. True buccaneer boots reach mid-calf and have a large flap that folds over.
- If you are a woman, choose boots or shoes that have buckles.
- Pirates also go barefoot, so you can choose this option.

Step 6. Wear a hat
You couldn't look like a pirate without a hat! Choose the tricorn style (with three tips). Choose a simple black hat or add some feather details to it.
- Also, you can tie a scarf on your head under your hat.
- Alternatively, you can use a handkerchief.

Step 7. Put on an eye patch
Choose a black patch or one decorated with a pirate flag. Keep in mind that the patch will weaken your gaze, so if you want to wear it, change your eye every day.

Step 8. Get a hook or peg leg
Many pirates have lost their limbs in violent naval battles! "Replace" a hand with a fake hook or a leg with a peg leg to create an authentic pirate look.
Part 2 of 3: Talk Like a Pirate

Step 1. Use a harsh, deep voice
To sound like a pirate, use a slightly husky voice. You should try to have a harsh and dry voice, as pirates often yell at their fellow crew members and spend long periods at sea where clean water can be scarce. Arrrr!

Step 2. Muffled or slurred words
Pirates are usually drunk and never worry about pronunciation. Put the words together; Say, for example, "look at that booty" instead of saying "look at that booty." He babbles under his breath some words like "rascals" and "cowardly."

Step 3. Learn the lingo
Add some nautical words to your vocabulary, like "land in sight" and "starboard." Pirates also like to say "follow the code." You should use other words like loot, loot, hidden treasure, comrade, plank, buccaneer, freshwater sailor, smooth sailing, tramp, scurvy, grog, and pillage.
Search the internet or use an app to learn more pirate words

Step 4. Don't pronounce it the right way
Pirates don't care about the pronunciation of words. Use an informal style say "compae" instead of "compadre", "ate" instead of "eaten" or "pa'cá" instead of "here."

Step 5. Use very pirate expressions
You can say "By the seven seas!" or "By Barbarossa's beard!"

Step 6. Avoid using “you” and “you
Pirates often use "vos" or "ye" with a Spanish accent. This way, you will sound like a pirate instantly. Some examples might be: "You are a dirty sea rat!", "Stop!" and "You will walk the keel!"

Step 7. Use the possessives in the first person
Say "my feathered bug" or "Attack, my brave ones!"

Step 8. Double the adjectives
Pirates love to go overboard, so add multiple adjectives to your descriptions. Instead of saying “a great ship”, say “a cool and beastly ship”. He speaks of "freshwater sailor scoundrels and scoundrels" instead of "bad sailors."
Part 3 of 3: Adding the Attitude and Accessories

Step 1. Growl and frown
Pirates are not cheerful and lively people. They look and sound like mean and unpleasant people, so adopt a slightly curmudgeonly attitude to look like a real pirate.

Step 2. Make lots of gestures
Make hand gestures when you speak and tap on the table or other surface from time to time. Pirates are very emotional, so turn up your attitude a few shades.

Step 3. Get a parrot
It can be a real one or a fake one. Put it on your shoulder and feed it cookie chips. A parrot that "talks" will be much better.

Step 4. Carry some weapons
Pick up some fake weapons so you don't get in trouble! Pirates often carry a cutlass (sword) and sometimes also a flintlock.

Step 5. Wear hoop earrings
Put one or two hoop earrings in your ears if you have pierced them. You can also choose earrings with wooden beads.

Step 6. Get a telescope
A pirate needs a telescope to detect ships that he can loot. You can make one out of a cardboard tube.

Step 7. Walk like a pirate
Strut like a pirate when you walk. Show confidence and a bit of freshness.

Step 8. Create a crew of pirates
Gather some of your friends and turn them into pirates too. If you can, get a boat (maybe a raft), sail together, make maps, and you can even bury treasure.

Step 9. Drink rum
If you are of legal drinking age, make rum your drink of choice. Choose a spiced dark rum over light liqueur.
Warnings
- Real piracy is illegal almost everywhere. Until very recently, it was theoretically punishable by death in the UK, so be careful!
- Pirates use swords and guns. These are illegal in continental Europe (US laws change by state), but you can use toy weapons and swords to avoid problems with the laws. It is also not recommended that you replace any limbs with sticks or hooks.
