Have you ever tried to make a home video with your camera, but it just didn't turn out the way you wanted? This article will show you how to make good videos that you can share with everyone.
Steps

Step 1. Get a good camera
An 8 megapixel camera on a mobile phone or one with a higher resolution will give your work a better quality.

Step 2. Choose a good location
Find a place with good lighting. For natural light, the room should have lots of windows or be well lit. Avoid recording in dark rooms or those with only one light source.

Step 3. Capture a good angle
You will probably want to place the camera at or over your shoulder. If you shoot with a static camera, a good shot usually goes from the waist to the head or the waist to the feet. Always make a test clip before recording the video. If you really want to get more elaborate shots, add multiple cameras to record from different angles.

Step 4. Understand what you are talking about
Always have a script handy. It doesn't matter if you don't learn it verbatim.

Step 5. Be dynamic
This step is important. Do not stare at the camera or any object. If you keep staring at her, move around, just make hand gestures, don't be monotonous when speaking, and use facial expressions to emphasize your words. If possible, add a few jokes. It doesn't matter if they aren't funny.

Step 6. Record and don't stop
If you screw it up, keep recording and repeat the sequence. It is easier to edit it afterwards than to re-record it.

Step 7. Upload the video for editing
If it's on your mobile phone, upload it to You Tube. If your phone or camera doesn't allow it, then copy it to your computer and upload it to YouTube from there. You can make the video public or private. You will need a Gmail account to upload it, but it is very easy to sign up. In addition, it is free.

Step 8. Find your video
This works best in the Google Chrome browser. Enter YouTube and access the video editor. To do this, log into YouTube.com with your account. Then click on your email address located in the upper right corner. Then click on "Video Manager". Then, in the left column near this button, click on "Authoring Tools." Finally, under this button, click on "Video Editor".

Step 9. Make short videos
Unless there is uninterrupted dialogue or a scene that needs to be recorded in one shot, cut the video. Change the shot every 1 to 10 seconds, or about every 4 seconds. This may seem extreme, but it is the secret to making a good video. It doesn't matter if you cut a few seconds off the dialogue. Use this step to eliminate any mistakes or unnecessary scenes.

Step 10. Use simple transitions
Never use the flip, rotate, rotate, break, merge or zoom options. Don't add nasty animations either. They might look good on video, but they won't get much attention. The best transitions to use are "Loss of black intensity" (on YouTube, choose "Loss of color intensity" -> black) or "No transitions" (also called "Hard transition"). Other transitions that can be used are "Loss of white intensity", "Dissolve", "Chained" and "Clear".

Step 11. Add effects and filters
Check that the video has the necessary brightness. Also, if you need rotation effects, stability or remove the audio in some scenes. If so, these options can be configured in the YouTube editor.

Step 12. Post your video
You can make the video be seen by everyone, that only you or the people who have access to the link can see it. If you want a copy of the video, choose the "Not Listed" option and then use one of YouTube's many downloaders to save it to your computer.
Advice
- Pick an interesting topic. Nobody cares to see how the grass grows.
- Get straight to the point. Never ramble.
- If you want to have more concrete ideas about what to shoot, check the YouTube content to find out what your video should show. Then pay attention to the procedure.
- Edit the video so that it only includes essential scenes. People who are not fond of videos are those who are content to watch some scenes and like to observe how a person operates the camcorder or mobile phone. So edit the video to only show the essentials.
- Create a storyboard or dramatize your ideas so that you better understand what you are going to show in the video.
- Set a deadline for the final edit.
Warnings
- You may receive rude or unpleasant messages if you post the material on a video sharing website.
- If you do not practice correctly the pronunciation of the words, especially the names, it will be embarrassing every time you play the video.
- If you don't save the video, it will be lost in cyberspace forever.
