In this wikiHow guide, you will see how to add stops, for example gas stations or restaurants, along a route using the "Maps" application on your iPhone.
Steps
Part 1 of 2: Create a Route

Step 1. Open the "Maps" application
It is located on the home screen; its icon is a map.

Step 2. Tap the search box
It's located at the bottom of the map.

Step 3. Enter your final destination

Step 4. Touch the destination in the results
It will appear below the search box.

Step 5. Touch Directions

Step 6. Touch Go next to the desired route
The map will zoom on the starting location of the route and will show you the first directions.
Part 2 of 2: Add a stop

Step 1. Touch the bottom of the screen
A menu will appear where you will see basic information about the route, for example, distance, travel time and estimated time of arrival.

Step 2. Touch a stop category
Different icons will appear, such as gas stations, restaurants, cafes, etc. depending on your current location and the time of day. The map will show you a list of nearby locations so you can choose one that belongs to that category.
Currently, there is no method that allows you to add a custom stop or intermediate destinations to a route. If you are going to make multiple stops, you will need to set up a new route for each destination

Step 3. Touch Go next to the desired stop
The map will show a new route to the selected stop and will begin to give you the first directions.
- To go back to the original route, just tap Resume route to … at the top of the screen.
