Painting your car's dashboard is a good way to personalize it. Whatever model you have, modern or classic, auto accessories stores are a great help when decorating and buying paint for your car. Dash kits can also be used to upgrade old or damaged car dashboards. We suggest you follow the steps below to give your car dashboard a more personalized look.
Steps

Step 1. Choose the color you want to paint your board
Consider choosing the same paint color as your car or creating an effect with two shades of colors.

Step 2. Buy the paint color you need
An auto accessories store may contact the auto company to get the paint or create a new color for you. "Just Dashes" and "Redline Gauge Works" are two of the companies that create paint combinations for their customers' cars.

Step 3. Clean and dry your board with rubbing alcohol and rags
This will help the paint adhere faster to the surface of your board.

Step 4. Preferably use a blue tape to protect some areas of the board where you want to keep its original color

Step 5. Paint your board
Start by spraying 3 thin coats of spray paint onto your board.
If you want to paint your board in more than one color, you can also tape paint tape to some parts of the painted board to protect the first color before applying the second

Step 6. Let the paint dry
Remove all the rest of the blue tape from your board.

Step 7. Apply a coat of paint after the paint has dried
This will prevent you from getting paint on your fingers.

Step 8. Apply any details to the painting
Use the thin-tipped brushes you have, the kind you used to make crafts as a child. These will help you a lot to have a more precise and detailed work, such as being able to write and draw logos.

Step 9. Purchase and install the dash kit
These kits contain trim pieces that can enhance the appearance of wood boards and can be found available for boards made from carbon fiber and other synthetic materials as well. Also, you can repaint the parts of your kit or use the kit instead of painting.
Generally, the installation process includes applying the primer paint to your already clean and dry board. Then peel and stick the material on your board
Advice
- If you install the dash kit yourself, be sure to organize all special items in place before removing them from their packaging. You will not be able to change the setting after placing it on your board.
- The dash kit has special items with smooth, beveled edges that cover the dash areas. The kit items are made for wide areas of the dash that may have angles or corners around, such as radio bezels.
- Before installing the kit items, thoroughly clean and dry the dash as instructed in the kit.
- Have car paint for your dash or get the dash kit for your convenience.
