Currently having a driving license is almost essential for many people and work in addition to giving us greater freedom in terms of mobility. And although the process can be long and complex, with caution and patience we can come to fruition.
Steps
Part 1 of 4: Find a Driving School

Step 1. It is better that you get the license in a driving school
When it comes to obtaining a driving license, it is best to do so using the services of a driving school or driving school. Although it is possible to do it for free, since you need, among other things, a car with the two sets of pedals, the price of obtaining the license for free is so high that it is best to go to a driving school.

Step 2. Look for offers among driving schools in your area
When looking for a driving school, price is key, so you should look for different offers and budgets among the driving schools that you know, to be able to compare the different services and prices that they offer you. It is key that you have clear aspects such as the number and duration of practical classes, whether or not traffic rates are included, as well as other costs that may include.

Step 3. Look for opinions on the net
Currently the Internet collects numerous opinions on practically everything, including the different driving schools that you have visited. The opinions of former students will be especially useful to know how they work on them and whether or not they are recommended.

Step 4. Get quotes in writing
Once you have done the selection work, choose two or three driving schools, the ones that interest you the most due to price and quality, and ask for a personalized budget in each of them, adapted to your needs, especially in the number of practices. Obviously, a person who has never used a car needs the same classes as someone who has already been given some notions.

Step 5. Choose your driving school and sign the contract
With the prepositions make your final decision and choose the driving school in which you are going to study. Once done, it is important that you sign a written contract where all the conditions and rates are met, which must coincide with those that you have received in the budget. At this point you will have to pay the registration fee and you will receive the material to start studying the theoretical part.
Part 2 of 4: Pass the theory part

Step 1. Go to the theory classes
Although it sounds obvious, there are many people who think that reading the manuals is enough to pass the theoretical part of the exam. It is advisable to attend classes at least until a complete cycle of the entire syllabus is covered to know it in detail. It does not matter to start in the middle of it if you complete the cycle.

Step 2. Take as many mockups as you can
One of the keys to passing the theoretical part is knowing the exams and questions. Fortunately, the DGT freely offers all the exams already taken and the questions of future exams so that you can practice. You can access them on the DGT page, in its exam section. Driving schools also have computers to take these mock exams.

Step 3. Do not be left with doubts
Any doubt, especially with a question that may lead to confusion, should be consulted with the teacher to resolve it. Keep in mind that you can only make three mistakes on the exam, so a trick question can lead to an unnecessary mistake.

Step 4. When you feel ready, go to the exam
Normally it is advisable to attend the exam only when you have almost all the mock exams with 2 or fewer errors, although you can also ask your teacher to recommend or evaluate the right time to do it.

Step 5. Go and pass the theoretical exam
Once you are ready it is time to go and pass the theory exam. The exam date will be communicated to you by your teacher once you decide to take the step. The cost of the course normally includes travel to the exam site, which is usually a DGT driver assessment center.
If you pass the exam you will be able to go on to the practical part of your training. If you do not pass it, you will have another try. If you fail again you will have to pay the traffic fees for the exam again
Part 3 of 4: Get over the practical part

Step 1. Get to know the car
Once the theory has been passed, it is time to start driving. To do this, in the first classes your teacher will be in charge of teaching you the different elements of the vehicle.

Step 2. Perform the tests in traffic
After knowing the vehicle, your teacher will begin to move through areas and real traffic situations. Although it may seem overwhelming, think that the teacher will always make sure that nothing happens to you. It is convenient to attend to the explanations because he will offer us tricks and help to pass the exam.

Step 3. Don't ask someone to help you
Although a family member is a great help to do an internship, since there is no special card or document in Spain that allows you to carry out an internship with you, it can pose a serious risk of fine and sanction. So if you need to do more practice always with the driving school car.

Step 4. Wait to be ready
As it happens in theory, it is important that you are not in a hurry when going to the practical exam. Consult your teacher to evaluate the most appropriate moment when you are ready to go to the exam. It is always better to wait and take a few more classes than to go to the exam and have to renew fees.

Step 5. Pass the psychotechnical test
In addition to the practical exam, as a preliminary step it is necessary that you take a psychotechnical test, which is required to be able to access it. To take this test you must go to one of the driver recognition centers recognized by the DGT, pay the cost of the exam and pass it. The exam consists of vision, coordination and hearing tests, as well as a general examination of your health.

Step 6. Pass the traffic test
When you are ready it is time to face the traffic test. Your examiner will take you to the place where the exam starts, where an examiner from the DGT will sit behind you and for about thirty minutes will check your driving skills and tell you where you have to go at all times. Be careful because it can give you cheat instructions to test your reflexes. If everything goes well after the test, you will have passed and you will be able to have your card shortly.

Step 7. Collect your provisional card
While Traffic processes your final license at the driving school, you will have at your disposal, about a week after passing the practical, the provisional license with which you can start driving. This card is valid for three months and serves the same as the final one. But don't forget to pick up the final one.

Step 8. Place the L on your car
As a novice it is mandatory that once you have approved and start driving, you place the sign with the L on a green background to indicate that you are a new driver. This sign is placed on the left side of the rear window of the car. Failure to do so may lead to a penalty. If the car is shared you must remove it when you are not behind the wheel.
Part 4 of 4: Renew the card

Step 1. Go to a driver recognition center
10 years after the date of obtaining your card, you must renew it. To do this, go to a driver recognition center where they will be in charge of managing the entire process. If you prefer, you can do it directly in traffic but the process is much more complex.

Step 2. Pass the medical examination
In order to obtain the renewal of the card it is necessary that you pass a medical examination similar to the one you have carried out to obtain it. It includes the same tests for vision, attention, coordination and the general health exam.

Step 3. Pay the renewal fee and the psychotechnician
Once the exam is completed, you must pay the license renewal fees, about € 25, and the cost of the psychotechnical exam. Once paid and with your receipt, it is no longer necessary to carry out any more procedure.

Step 4. Receive your card
After a few days you will receive your card at the address you have designated in traffic. It is important that this address is your current address, because if you have not indicated the possible changes of residence to Traffic, the card will surely never reach you and you will have to go to traffic to pick it up.
