This wikiHow teaches you how to update the Google Chrome browser on your computer and mobile devices. While Google Chrome generally updates itself, you can manually initiate the update on a mobile device using the App store or on a computer by going to the “Google Chrome Information” page.
Steps
Method 1 of 3: On the desktop

Step 1. Open Google Chrome
The icon for this application is shaped like a green, red and blue circle.

Step 2. Click ⋮
You will find it in the upper right corner of the Chrome window. Clicking it will bring up a drop-down menu.
- This icon will be green, yellow, or red if an update is available.
- In some older versions of Chrome, this icon looks more like a ☰.

Step 3. Select Help
It's near the bottom of the drop-down menu. By selecting Help a pop-up window will appear.
- If you see the option Update Google Chrome at the top of this menu, click it.

Step 4. Click Google Chrome Information
This option is at the top of the pop-up window.

Step 5. Wait for Google Chrome to update
The update process will take a couple of minutes at most.
If you see a message in this section that says "Google Chrome is up to date," then your browser will not need any updates at this time

Step 6. Restart Google Chrome
You can do it by clicking the button Restart that appears after the update is complete or you can just close Chrome and reopen it. The browser will now be up to date.
You can keep up with the status of your Chrome browser by going back to the “Google Chrome Information” page to see the message “Google Chrome is up to date” on the left of the page
Method 2 of 3: On iPhone

Step 1. Open the App Store on your iPhone
The icon for this application is light blue and has a white “A” made up of stationery. You will find it on the home page.

It's in the lower-right corner of the screen.

Step 3. Click Update next to Chrome
In the "Pending Updates" section at the top of the page, you will see the Chrome icon. The button To update is on the right.
If you don't see Chrome in the "Pending Updates" section, then Chrome is up to date

Step 4. Enter your Apple ID password if prompted
Upon entering it, Google Chrome will begin to update.
If you are not asked for your Apple ID password, Google Chrome will start updating immediately
Method 3 of 3: On Android

The icon for this application is white and has a multi-colored triangle on it.

Step 2. Press ☰
It's in the upper-left corner of the screen.

Step 3. Press My apps & games
This option is in the pop-up menu on the left of the screen.

Step 4. Press the Chrome icon
This is a green, yellow, blue, and red circle. You will see it in the "Updates" section. When pressed, Chrome will start the update.
