The PlayStation 4 is one of the best new ways to play games online and has sold so well that analysts predict it will be the best-selling console ever. If you have a PlayStation 4 and want to connect to the internet, follow one of these methods.
Steps
Method 1 of 2: Using a wired connection

Step 1. Connect an Ethernet cable
On the back of the console, you will see an Ethernet port. Connect the cable.

Step 2. Go to your settings
Turn on the PlayStation 4 and navigate to the settings icon. Press "X".

Step 3. Select "Network Option"
After selecting the settings icon, scroll down until you see "Network Option". Press "X".

Step 4. Configure your connection
Go to "Internet connection settings", press X. Select "Use LAN cable" and then choose "Easy". The "Easy" option will allow your console to automatically detect your network settings.

Step 5. Test your connection
Once the setup is complete, you will have the option to test your connection. This test will demonstrate if the console is properly connected to the Internet.
Method 2 of 2: Using a Wireless Connection

Step 1. Go to your settings
Turn on your PlayStation 4 and navigate to the settings icon. Press "X".

Step 2. Select "Network Option"
After selecting the settings icon, scroll down until you see "Network Option." Press "X".

Step 3. Configure your connection
Go to "Internet Connection Settings", press "X". Select "Wi-Fi" and then choose "Easy." The "Easy" option will allow your console to automatically detect your network settings.

Step 4. Select your network
Depending on how many wireless connections are enabled, you will see various network names. Choose your preferred network and if a password is required enter it with the virtual keyboard provided on your screen.

Step 5. Test your connection
Once the setup is complete, you will have the option to test your connection. This test will demonstrate if the console is properly connected to the Internet.
