This wikiHow teaches you how to follow someone's Tik Tok videos on an iPhone or iPad.
Steps
Method 1 of 4: Browse Videos and Categories
Step 1. Open Tik Tok on the iPhone or iPad
It's the black icon that has a white music note inside. You'll usually find it on the home screen.
Step 2. Click the magnifying glass
It's the second icon from the left at the bottom of the screen. This action opens a page that allows you to search for users or browse by categories.
Step 3. Click on a category or a hashtag
This action will display the videos that are tagged based on the selected category or hashtag.
You can also search for videos or users using the search bar at the top of the screen
Step 4. Tap a video
The person who shared the video's profile photo now appears in the lower-right corner of the screen.
Step 5. Find the person's profile picture at the top of the icons on the right side of the screen
Tap the pink and white plus sign below the photo.
Step 6. Watch the plus sign turn into a check mark and disappear
Now you follow this user.
- You can confirm that you follow by clicking on the profile photo or username to go to the profile page. If you see the button Message instead of the big pink button Follow, continue, then you already follow the user.
Method 2 of 4: Find a Specific Username
Step 1. Open Tik Tok on the iPhone or iPad
It's the black icon with a white music note inside. You'll usually find it on the home screen.
Step 2. Click the magnifying glass
It's the second icon from the left at the bottom of the screen. This action opens a page that allows you to search for users or browse by categories.
Step 3. Search for users using the search bar at the top of the screen
This measure is useful if you have a specific user in mind. Enter the username and press Search on the keyboard.
Step 4. Click Continue next to the appropriate user
It's the big red button below your profile photo. If the button becomes white Following, then you already follow this user.
- You can confirm that you follow by clicking on the profile photo or username to go to the profile page. If you see the button Message instead of the big pink button Follow, continue, then you already follow the user.
Method 3 of 4: Follow iPhone or iPad Contacts
Step 1. Open Tik Tok on the iPhone or iPad
It's the black icon with a white music note inside. You'll usually find it on the home screen.
Step 2. Tap the person's icon to open your profile
It's in the lower-right part of the screen.
Step 3. Click the outline of a person with a plus sign (+)
It's in the upper-left corner of the screen (to the right of the search bar). This action opens the "Find Friends" screen.
Step 4. Tap Find Friends Who Are Contacts to browse iPhone contacts
It's the first option at the top of the screen. The list of your Tik Tok contacts will appear.
- If you are asked to allow Tik Tok to access your contacts, tap okay.
Step 5. Click the Follow button next to any contact you want to add
Now you follow that contact.
Method 4 of 4: Follow Facebook Friends
Step 1. Open Tik Tok on the iPhone or iPad
It's the black icon with a white music note inside. You'll usually find it on the home screen.
Step 2. Tap the person's icon to open your profile
It's in the lower-right part of the screen.
Step 3. Click the outline of a person with a plus sign (+)
It's in the upper-left corner of the screen (to the right of the search bar). This action opens the "Find Friends" screen.
Step 4. Press Find Facebook Friends
It is the second option. You will be asked to log into Facebook.
Step 5. Click Continue
This action opens the Facebook login page.
Step 6. Log into your Facebook account
If you are already logged in, you will see the "Confirm Login" screen automatically.
Step 7. Click Continue
A list of Facebook contacts who have Tik Tok accounts will appear.
Step 8. Press the Follow button next to any contact you want to add
Now you follow that contact.
