Do you want to remove the volume limit that exists on the iPod because you like to punish your ears with overwhelmingly loud music? Or, do you have large headphones that need more volume to sound better? If you know the password, this article is not directed at you, instead if you are on the other extreme, here is a simple solution to restore or format the iPod. Here's a way to remove the iPod volume limit without using the password.
Steps
Method 1 of 4: Quick Hack Method (All OS)

Step 1. Connect your iPod and iTunes will open (or open it yourself)

Step 2. Select all your songs by clicking Ctrl and A

Method 2 of 4: Hidden Folders Method for Mac

killall Finder
To hide those files again, type the following command
writes by default com.apple.finder AppleShowAllFiles FALSE
killall Finder
Step 2. Go to the hidden folder called "iPod_Control", and once there, click on the "Device" folder
Once there, delete the file named "_volumelocked".
Step 3. Eject the iPod
Then restart the iPod. This can be done by holding down the center and menu button for at least 6 seconds
Step 4. When the iPod restarts, check and make sure it works
Just go to "Settings", "Volume Limit". If it asks for a PIN, you've done it wrong. Retry the previous procedure.

In Windows Explorer, go to "Tools", "Folder Options". Then click on the tab called "View", and on "Hidden files and folders", then click on "Show hidden files and folders".

Once there, copy the file named "_volumelocked" to a folder on your hard drive, and then delete it from the iPod.

Step 3. Eject the iPod
Then restart the iPod. This can be done by holding down the center and menu button for at least 6 seconds. If you're using an iPod Nano, press and hold the center button and the menu button simultaneously for about 10 seconds.

Step 4. When the iPod restarts, check and make sure it is working properly
Just go to "Settings", "Volume Limit". If it asks for a PIN, you've done it wrong. Retry the previous procedure.

Warnings
Please note that some methods may not work on all iPods. Not all iPods have the file named "_volumelocked" and consequently it is impossible to get better sound on some of the iPod variants, for example 5g 60-80 gigabyte iPods.
- Don't listen to loud music. You can seriously impair your hearing ability.
- Do not delete more files than are strictly necessary, as you can make the iPod not work later.
