This wikiHow article teaches you how to change the password you use to log into your Uber account.
Steps
Method 1 of 2: Use the Uber App
Step 1. Open the Uber app
It's a black icon with a white circle around a square and a black line.
If you log in automatically, you need to log out in order to change your password
Step 2. Press the ☰ button
It's in the upper-left corner of the screen.
Step 3. Click on Settings
It's the last option on the menu.
Step 4. Scroll down and tap Sign out
It's at the bottom of the menu.
This will take you to the login page of the page
Step 5. Enter your phone number
Enter the phone number associated with your Uber account.
Step 6. Press →
It's in the center of the screen.
Step 7. Click on I forgot my password
It's under the line that says "Enter your password."
Step 8. Write your email
Enter the email associated with your Uber account.
Step 9. Press →
It's in the center of the screen. Uber will send you an email with a link to reset your password to the email you provide.
Step 10. Click OK
Do this once you confirm that you received the email from Uber.
If you did not receive an email, click on "Forward"
Step 11. Open the mail application
Use the application that receives the email from your Uber account.
Step 12. Open the Uber email
It usually says "Uber password reset link" or something like that in the subject field. If you don't see that email in your inbox, look in the "Spam" or "Junk" folder. If you have Gmail you can also check the "Updates" folder.
Step 13. Click on Reset password
It is in the center of the message. Doing so will open a password reset page which opens the Uber app.
You may need to grant permission to your phone's browser to access Uber before the app can open
Step 14. Enter a new password
It must be at least 5 characters long.
Step 15. Press →
If your password is valid, this will log you into your account. You will now use the password you just created to log into the application.
Method 2 of 2: Use the Uber website
Step 1. Open the Uber website
Step 2. Click ☰
It's in the upper-left corner of the window.
Step 3. Click Login
It's in the upper-right corner of the menu.
Step 4. Click User Login
It's on the right side of the page.
Step 5. Click I forgot my password
This button is located below the button. Log in.
Step 6. Enter your email address
Enter the email address you used when you signed up for Uber.
Step 7. Click Next
Doing so generates a link to reset the password that will be sent to the email associated with that Uber account.
Step 8. Open your email
Check the email associated with that Uber account.
Step 9. Click on the email that says "Uber Password Reset Link."
If you don't see that email in your inbox, look in your "Spam" or "Junk" folder; if you have Gmail you can also check the "Updates" folder.
Step 10. Click Reset Password
Doing so will take you to the page where you can reset your password.
Step 11. Enter a new password
Enter and confirm a password that is at least 5 characters long.
Step 12. Click Next
It is located below the fields where the password is entered.
Step 13. Click Login User
Step 14. Enter your email and password
Write them in the appropriate fields.
Step 15. Check the box next to "I'm not a robot."
Step 16. Click Login
You have just logged into your account with the new password.
Advice
- You cannot use your old password as a new password.
- Changing a password on one platform (eg mobile) will change your password for all other platforms. This can cause application errors until you log out and log back in with the new password.
