This wikiHow teaches you how to make your Macbook display the battery percentage. You can easily do this by enabling the battery status in the Mac preferences and then turning on the percentage in the menu bar.
Steps
Step 1. Click
It's the apple icon located in the upper-left corner of the menu bar at the top of the screen. This will open the Apple menu.
Step 2. Click System Preferences
It is the second option in the Apple menu.
Step 3. Click Energy Saver
It's the light bulb icon in the second row of options.
Step 4. Click on the box that says "Show battery status in menu bar."
It's in the lower left of the power saving screen. This will display a battery icon in the upper right corner of the menu bar. When the Macbook is connected, it will show lightning going through the battery.
Step 5. Click on the battery icon
Click on the battery symbol located in the menu bar at the top of the screen. This will open a drop down menu.
Step 6. Click Show Percentage
It's near the bottom of the menu. When selected, a percentage will appear to the left of the battery symbol in the menu bar at the top of the screen. When percentage is enabled, you will see a check mark next to "Show percentage" in the battery menu.
