This wikiHow teaches you how to use the Samsung Smart View app on your iPhone or iPad. This application will allow you to run applications on the TV, play media and use your iPhone or iPad as a remote control.
Steps
Part 1 of 3: Configure Smart View
Step 1. Connect your iPhone or iPad and your Samsung TV to the same Wi-Fi network
For the Smart View application to detect your TV, your iPhone or iPad must be connected to the same Wi-Fi network that your Samsung Smart TV is connected to.
Step 2. Install the Smart View application on your iPhone or iPad
Download and install it on your phone. It is the application with an icon that represents a television with four arches underneath.
- Open the App Store

- Type samsung smart view in the search bar.
- Tap the app Samsung Smart View.
- Touch GET.
Step 3. Open Smart View
You can open it from your iPhone or iPad by tapping the icon on your home page, or by tapping the "Open" button next to the Smart View icon in the App Store if you've just installed the app. It will start searching for Samsung TVs.
Step 4. Select your Samsung Smart TV
The Smart View application will display a list of Samsung smart TVs that are connected on the same Wi-Fi network.
Touch "Allow" if the application asks you to access the photos and videos on your iPhone. This is necessary to connect it with your TV and play the media from your phone
Step 5. Select the TV you want to connect if it asks for it
The Smart View application can automatically connect to your Samsung TV, but if you have more than one connected to your home network, you will have to touch the name of the one you want to connect. The TV will ask you to allow the connection with your phone.
Step 6. Select Allow on your TV
Use the remote control to select "Allow" from the pop-up window at the top of your TV screen. This will activate the Smart View feature on the TV and allow it to connect to your phone.
Step 7. Tap the TV app on your phone
Once connected, you will see a list of the applications that are installed on your smart TV. You can tap any of them to run it on the TV. In addition, additional controls will open on your phone where you can choose more options.
Step 8. Touch the remote control icon
This is in the lower right corner of the app. This will allow you to use your iPhone or iPad as the remote control for your Samsung TV.
Part 2 of 3: Play Media from Your iPhone
Step 1. In the Smart View app, swipe the TV apps in the top row to the left
Slide them until you reach the extreme right.
Step 2. Tap My Photos, My videos, or My music at the top.
Here you will see a list of all the photos, videos and music files that can be played on your Samsung TV.
Step 3. Select a photo, video, or song to play
Touch the thumbnail of any of these files and they will automatically play on the TV.
Step 4. Touch the back arrow icon to return to the main menu
It's the icon in the upper-right corner with the U-shaped arrow in the Smart View app.
You can also touch the button on the remote control to directly control the TV at any time
Part 3 of 3: Projecting from a Media Application
Step 1. Open the application that you want to project on your iPhone or iPad
If an application has the ability to project media, such as photos and video, then you will be able to view them on your smart TV. Streaming apps like YouTube, Netflix, Hulu, etc. They usually have the ability to project on smart TVs.
Step 2. Tap
It's the icon that looks like a TV screen with a Wi-Fi signal in the lower-left corner of the icon. It is usually located in the upper right corner of most applications. This will open a pop-up window with a list of devices that you can stream to.
Step 3. Select your Samsung Smart TV from the list
Select the name of your smart TV from the list of available devices and that will cause the TV to connect.
Step 4. Choose something to play
In the app, select a song or video to start streaming it on your TV. For example, if you have the YouTube app connected, when you touch a video it will play on your TV instead of on your iPhone or iPad. Use the playback controls in the app to control video directly on the TV.
