Have you ever wanted to watch a DVD? Do you have a laptop? Don't have a DVD player? Tired of watching DVDs on your laptop screen?
Steps

Step 1. Look for a yellow entry somewhere on your computer

Step 2. Plug the yellow (video) RCA cable into that input

Step 3. Plug the other end of the RCA cable into the video input of your television

Step 4. Find your laptop's headphone jack

Step 5. Plug one end of the 3.5mm audio cable into your computer's headphone jack

Step 6. Plug the other end of that cable into your television
You may need an adapter to split the 3.5mm cable into two RCA connectors. You can buy this at almost any store that sells electronics, and it might even come with your laptop

Step 7. Your laptop should have a button (or combination of buttons) that you can press, for example, on some laptops the combination is Fn + F8
If you don't know which keys to press, locate the display settings in "Control Panel." A window will appear with information on using an external monitor. Make sure your computer is set to "Mirror" on your TV screen what appears on your computer monitor.

Step 8. Put the DVD in your laptop, select the video player of your choice and enjoy your movie
Advice
- Many laptops do not have an output for the RCA video cable. Instead they have a VGA output that requires a VGA cable. Some televisions have a VGA input, others require a VGA-RCA adapter. You can easily find any of these cables and adapters in electronics stores or online.
- If the screen resolution is not suitable for your TV, you can change your laptop screen resolution by right-clicking on your desktop and selecting "Properties". Click on the "Settings" tab. You will see a scroll bar near the bottom of the window that says "Screen Resolution". Move the scroll bar to the settings of your choice, click the "Apply" button and then "OK."
