Converting from degrees Celsius to Kelvin is a very simple task. The Kelvin temperature scale is an absolute thermodynamic scale, commonly used in the physical sciences. This scale does not contain negative figures (its zero equals absolute zero), unlike the Celsius and Fahrenheit scales. Because this temperature scale is used in a variety of different disciplines, it is extremely helpful for you to learn how to convert between the various scales. With some practice, you can even do it mentally, without using a calculator.
Steps
Part 1 of 3: Converting from Celsius to Kelvin

Step 1. Write the temperature in degrees Celsius
Converting to Kelvin is very easy to do; you will simply need to do an addition. The examples below will be used in this section of the guide to show you the conversion:
- 30 ºC
- 0 ºC
- 100 ºC

Step 2. Add 273.15 to the temperature in Celsius
For example, 30 plus 273, 15 equals 303, 15. This is all you have to do. Add 273, 15 and you're done.
-
30 + 273.15 = 303.15 { displaystyle 30 + 273.15 = 303.15}
- 0+273, 15=273, 15{displaystyle 0+273, 15=273, 15}
- 100+273, 15=373, 15{displaystyle 100+273, 15=373, 15}

Step 3. Replace the ºC with a K
Do not put the degree symbol, because it would be wrong. When you have done the calculation, put the K in and you are done.
-
30 + 273.15 = { displaystyle 30 + 273.15 =}
303, 15K{displaystyle 303, 15K}
- 0+273, 15={displaystyle 0+273, 15=}
- 100+273, 15={displaystyle 100+273, 15=}
273, 15K{displaystyle 273, 15K}
373, 15K{displaystyle 373, 15K}

Step 1.
Each unit is called "Kelvin". The temperature rose not two degrees, but two Kelvin

Step 2. The figure 0 K is equivalent to the theoretical point where gases have no volume
Absolute zero or 0 K is the point where molecules theoretically stop moving. It is the "perfect" cold. Although it is currently impossible to get to this point, many scientists have been able to get close to it. The purpose of the Kelvin scale is to facilitate calculations that include absolute zero.

Step 3. Use the Kelvin scale in your science projects
Because 0 K is the lowest temperature in the universe, the Kelvin scale does not contain negative figures. This will make any calculations you do a lot easier. You will be able to compare temperatures, find differences or averages, and find relationships between quantities more easily if you don't have to work with negative numbers.
The Kelvin scale is also used to measure color temperature. For example, the listed quantities (3000K, 6000K, etc.) in cameras and lighting fixtures, in addition to electric bulbs

Step 4. Learn the technical definitions of the Kelvin scale for your advanced classes
The Kelvin scale corresponds to 1273.15 { displaystyle { frac {1} {273, 15}}}

Step 1. Convert from Fahrenheit to Celsius before converting to Kelvin
It is much more difficult to convert directly from Fahrenheit to Kelvin. Converting from Celsius to Kelvin is much easier. You will most likely need a calculator for this step.
Example: 86ºF

Step 2. Subtract 32 from the temperature in Fahrenheit
For example, 86 minus 32 equals 54. The interesting thing is that 32ºF corresponds to the freezing point of water in Celsius, which is 0ºC.
-
86−32 = 54 { displaystyle 86-32 = 54}
- Multiplica el número que acabas de obtener por 59{displaystyle {frac {5}{9}}}
- 54∗0, 5555=30{displaystyle 54*0, 5555=30}
- 54∗59=30{displaystyle 54*{frac {5}{9}}=30}

Step 3. Add 273, 15 to finish the Kelvin conversion
Once you have subtracted 32 from the Fahrenheit temperature and multiplied the amount obtained by 59 { displaystyle { frac {5} {9}}}
, habrás obtenido la temperatura en celsius. luego, solo deberás agregar 273, 15 y habrás terminado.
- 30+273, 15={displaystyle 30+273, 15=}
303, 15k{displaystyle 303, 15k}
