Preparing to participate in school, state, or National Geographic competitions and need some advice? Well, you've come to the right place.
Steps

Step 1. Study
Not only does it help you learn about places and cultures, but it is absolutely necessary if you want to be successful in competition. This way you will be safer.
- A good study technique is to place on maps that do not have information and are of several continents or countries the most important characteristics, both physical and political, of each place.
- Another good place to visit that will help you is the National Geographic competition section. Here are the most difficult real questions at the national level so that you have a broader understanding. Some good materials to study are an atlas, an almanac (to keep up with current events), a dictionary (to look up difficult terms), a map and something not necessary but very useful, a study guide designed for the competition. You can get them in many places, including the National Geographic website.

Step 2. Ask yourself questions to practice
You should base them on topics in which you are not an expert. And if you want, ask those questions in Geography competitions to your family and friends. Take a practice competition using several questions separated by categories, as they do in the real competition. The more it looks like real competition, the more serene, calm and confident you will be.

Step 3. When the day of the competition comes around, relax
This is one of the most common things that participants do not do, and yet it is one of the most necessary. If you don't relax, you won't be able to focus on the questions and you won't be able to think. Another tip is that don't stay studying all night without sleeping. Staying studying all night before or (God forbid) the morning before the big day will only make things worse. You will probably forget everything you have learned. However, it doesn't mean that you can't look at a map. a while for review.

Step 4. Once the competition starts, stay relaxed as it goes on
What have you got to lose? You are having fun and you are showing how hard you worked and everything you achieved. Of course, make sure to think before giving your answer. A common mistake participants make is blurting out the wrong answer before thinking hard. Relax and have fun.:)
Advice
