Many academic papers are written using the MLA style. The MLA style does not normally require a cover page because all the important information is developed on the first page. However, some teachers prefer that a separate page be used for the title. In that case, follow the standards outlined below.
Steps
Method 1 of 1: Create the cover

Step 1. Write the title at a distance of about a third of the height of the page, starting from the top down
The title must follow the capitalization standards of any normal title: the first letter the first word must be capitalized. The rest of the words that compose it, except in the case of proper names, must be written with lowercase. In the case of abbreviated titles with which certain literary texts are commonly known, the article that accompanies them must be written with a lower case (for example, Don Quixote, Lazarillo, Celestina).
- Don't use punctuation for the title. It is not necessary to enclose it in quotation marks, you must not underline it or write it in italics. However, if you are going to use a quote or reference to a larger work in the title, then you should use the appropriate punctuation.
- For example, "" To be or not to be: "An analysis of Hamlet's soliloquy" contains a quote. While "An Analysis of Inaction in Shakespeare's Hamlet" contains the title of the play, it should therefore be italicized.

Step 2. Leave 2-3 lines, then write your name
Make sure to include your first and last name.

Step 3. Leave 2 or 3 lines

Step 4. Enter the course or class data
It would be nice if you include the section number as well as the name of the course.

Step 5. Write the teacher's name on the next line
Be sure to include the appropriate title, especially if your professor has a Ph. D. For example, Dr. Juan Hernández or Dr. Hernández.

Step 6. Write the date on the next line
The MLA format generally requires the use of the European style for dates: first the day, then the month, and then the year. For example, April 27, 2015.
Advice
- Use a standard 12 point font for all text.
- Use a standard one-inch (2.5 cm) margin.
- Use a standard serif font (serif or serif font), such as Times New Roman or Garamond.
